How have you used, developed or challenged the conventions of a real media product?
Here is a video that Jemma and myself put together to answer the given question.

What have you learned from your audience feedback?
In order to answer my coursework question, I felt that I could gather information from more than one source, in order to present my feedback in different ways and to give myself a wider range of audience feedback. In my Media Class, we each watched our own music video and decided collectively as a whole class to film the feedback we were given from the other coursework groups. I think that this is a particularly good way to record audience feedback due to the fact that the camera gives a live feed where facial expressions and genuine reactions to the music video can be seen. Here it is.
I also used surveymonkey.com (as mentioned in a previous post) to get audience feedback, and eight people took my Digipack Evaluation survey, seven people took the survey on the webpage evaluation and a twelve people took the survey on my music video as this was the easiest one to access. I decided that I wanted to find a quick, creative way of showing my results and discovered wordle.com which enables the user to create a word bubble full of the words used in a document, a blog etc, in my case - from my survey.

and
, due to the fact that they had to interact with it to see how easy it was to navigate and the like - I found time to get people to look at the website within my media class and a few members outside of it. I also found, from gathering this evidence that in some ways, my questionnaire provides support for the audience profile that my group constructed together earlier in the process of our coursework research. We had decided that our audience would only be as young as 15, and in my questionnaire's no one was younger than 15, we also said that they'd download their music off the internet and some people who filled out the questionnaire's said exactly that. However, one outcome contradicted our audience profile; we had said that our audience included more males, but my questionnaires were answered by more females - I believe a reason for this is the small sample. When gathering some form of feedback from youtube, however, we print screened statistics from youtube and these statistics supported our audience profile in saying that our video appealed to males mostly.

There was a consistent amount of praise for the concept behind the video - especially the use of the masks and the idea of the two gangs opposing one another, many said it gave the video more depth. Whilst the feedback was mostly positive, a few people commented on the lose structure of the website, saying it needed to have more in it, to make it a little more engaging. Despite the fact that my sample was quite limited for each questionnaire, totalling to a number of twenty seven responses from all three, most of them agreed, as high-lighted by the words presented on the wordle which are biggest, that my Music Video was interesting, my Website was easy to use even if it was a little simple and loose in structure (as some had stated) and my Digipack worked very well for the genre of music. All three of my products, I believe, appeals well to my target audience because of the fact we knew exactly who these products would be selling to, because they stick to conventions and the video has an interesting concept which excites curiosity about the other two projects.

I expected that my Target Audience would enjoy watching the group's music video simply because it stuck to what expected from a hip-hop video and that they were familiar with the artist in most cases. From hosting a screening for my groups Music Video, and from gathering survey information for my questionnaires concerning my Webpage and my Digipack, I have found that on the whole my audience feedback has been rather positive. From our feedback, I realised that we shouldn't have tried to move so fast when we were filming seeing as we were walking backwards - this speedy movement cut off the chin of our actor at times. I also believe that the quality of some of our footage could have been improved (this feedback was given to us by our teacher and Stacey in our media class), the poor quality was partially due to having switch between shots from one height to the other, if we had the chance to re-shoot in the future, then I would make sure that we'd take as much time as we needed over these little things. I had a fair amount of trouble when it came to getting people to answer my questionnaire about my website on

24.01.2011; Survey Creation.
In order to collect information so I am able to evaluate the effectiveness of my two ancillary texts and the groups music video, I have decided to use surveymonkey to collect both quantitative (numerical) and qualitative (descriptive) data. This enables me to quickly obtain audience feedback as a part of my coursework evaluation. I have another two to create, for my Digipack and Webpage evaluation, but I have only managed to create one for the music video - I shall add the others.

Website updates.
I used my company's Logo as stated earlier and now that my website has come together a lot more, I am more confident in its appearance. At first, as stated previously, I had a massive struggle with iweb in the beginning of the productions of a homepage, however, I managed to overcome such things.
This logo appears on my Digipak and on my Website:

I have also decided on a very simple colour scheme that works quite effectively; night-vision green, edited in my pictures with Final Cut (As shown in a previous post),white for text and black for the background, which makes the other two stand out more. I feel this colour scheme is complimentary of itself and the website.

Website updates: Banner and Professor Green Logo.
We finally managed to get our pictures of Jimmy and I chose this one as it is a full-body shot and really relays a 'bad boy' attitude, which I feel Professor Green gives over to in his official Jungle music video, it also relates quite well to this genre of music.

For a little while, I was settled on a particularly fancy logo for Professor Green's name, due to its likeness with the artists tattoo, however, I decided that using such a different font from everything else (On my Digipak and my Website) would ruin the iconography and so, stuck to Tahoma. Professor Green's logo is incredibly simple:

Digipack Completion.
My Digipack is near completion, I have only got to get stills from the video of my front cover which involves the opposing gangs facing one another.
Here is the template I used;

Here is my Digipack, which excluding the text on the front cover, is nearly finished;

I may consider changing the type of font (Bold Tahoma) but I intend to keep it in block writing.

After school today I've decided to come back and make progress on both my website and my digipack. Due to the fact I find one of the programmes we use in class incredibly frustrating, I decided to use something I was more comfortable with; Final Cut Express. For my Digipack I wanted to have each photo in night-vision, though I can edit with Final Cut I'm not accustomed to adding such effects. After a few set-backs, and many trials and errors, I have finally found out how to do this;

By fiddling with the colours, as shown in the print screens above, this was the outcome of the photos I intend to use for my Digipack.
